According to NBC News, beginning next tax year, a new IRS form known as 1099-K will be sent to taxpayers who annually sell more than $20,000 worth of goods and have more than 200 electronic transactions. This not only applies to internet sales but also other areas such as garage sales and classified ads.

Hell, we should just do the fair tax and abolish the IRS really, but that’s another discussion for another time.

It’s a pretty common argument that the government should legalize and tax marijuana to increase revenue. Let’s think about it for a minute. Let’s say marijuana’s $100 per ounce, illegal. That’s $100 dollars they make. Let’s legalize it. Now, growers are everywhere! People who would never grow now convert their basements into growrooms. People who previously had small closet operations now expand and grow on a mass scale. The price of marijuana plummets, as it is easily available to all. Realistically, after a short period of time, marijuana would probably sell for something like $20 per ounce. Now let’s tax that by, I dunno, 10%? So now, thinking like “the government”, would you rather net $100 for an ounce or $2.00 for an ounce? The government makes too much money by keeping it illegal. It’s really gonna take THE PEOPLE to take back control if we want to do something like legalize pot.
Your argument is flawed, sir. How is the government getting 100% of the $100 for an ounce I hypothetically purchase under your scenario? They’re not. In fact, arresting all of the pot smokers, prosecuting them, keeping them in jail, feeding them, etc. costs way more. All of the money being spent on the “drug war” is a huge waste and bullshit on the cost. I would pay more for legal weed and feel good about it too. It would almost be a patriotic duty to smoke pot. Well, at least as patriotic as drinking a Bud Light while watching a half naked lady sponge bath a mustang in the parking lot of a baseball stadium while Lady Gaga sings the national anthem… go America…?

My dear friends, grow a pair of ball and actually read the IRC code. It plainly states that only federal employees are to pay federal income taxes. If you are paying them and you don’t work for the feds, then you have a problem that you can fix. When someone gives you a w2 or 1099 they are saying that they paid you federally connected money! Use your tax return to correct the record. I’ve been doing it for years, and saved a shit load of money. SERIOUSLY
